Much needed beach time

After this year with covid and all the time at home – I have missed traveling. I miss getting out of my house – I have always loved home but one of my joys of traveling is when I get to come home.

Recently I booked an airbnb with a 2-week stay at a beach rental. Last year I did just a long weekend with my family and one of my dogs near the same location. So this year we decided to make it a full 2-week stay and get a house closer to the beach.

One, I LOVED having a house on the beach. It was a really nice way to wake up and see a beautiful sunrise. And I did bring my dog again who also loves the beach so we had some really nice walks on the beach at 7 am. It was a nice quiet way to start each day.

Two, the decision to get away even if it was just a change of scenery was much needed. Always great to reset a little and enjoy something new. While my hair did not agree with the humidity each day – at least I could embrace the beach hair don’t care mentality!

Walk on the wild side

We visited the Cango Wildlife Ranch where we got to see cheetahs, leopards, more lions, tigers, and so much more. Here besides getting to see the animals we got to take a walk with a cheetah – such a curious animal.  I took a walk with Stark who will be coming to Texas in the…

Knysna

In Knysna we got the chance to visit an elephant park where we got to feed them as well as take an afternoon stroll with them.  Feeding them was fun and a bit messy as they sucked the fruit and veggies off your hand with their trunks. Such majestic and smart animals!  Mine was considered…

South Africa Safari

Safari was amazing!  We stayed at a beautiful resort and got to see 4 of the big 5 (Elephant, Buffalo, Rhinos, and Lions).  They did have leopards but they were not out when we drove around.  I absolutely loved getting to see the animals roam around and move freely in their space – so different…
