Knysna

In Knysna we got the chance to visit an elephant park where we got to feed them as well as take an afternoon stroll with them. Feeding them was fun and a bit messy as they sucked the fruit and veggies off your hand with their trunks.

Such majestic and smart animals! Mine was considered a juvenile at 10 years old and was curious to pick up rocks, sticks, or anything in her view as we walked.

I got a quick reminder how big she was when she bumped me and it felt like a wall ran into me. But overall I was amazed at how well she obeyed commands from her trainer. We had a wonderful walk – her skin had a real coarse hair that you couldn’t see well but felt.
